Ways to Show Love to Fountain Hill

Now, there’s multiple ways to show love and support to the local Fountain Hill Community!

First, Backpack Buddies is a weekly food support program sponsored by Fountain Hill Elementary School with support from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  Each week, identified students pick up a backpack full of food for the weekend.  The goal is to send home healthy, easy meals that kids can manage on their own or that families can make together.  Example of items include breakfast foods (fruit cups, applesauce, oatmeal, cereal, breakfast and granola bars), pull-tab cans of soup, instant potatoes and rice, pasta, tuna fish, peanut butter and jelly, and snacks.  This year Fountain Hill is supporting 26 families weekly, more families than ever before.  The need for food is constant and always appreciated!

Second, we will be collecting new or gently used stuffed animals to partner with the Fountain Hill Police Department. They will be used as a comfort to children who are taken out of difficult family situations.

You can drop off all donations at Guest Central. See Art Hutcheson or Iris Kale for more information.

Third, the Fountain Hill After School Program is returning! If you are interested in serving 2-3 graders this fall after school, sign up today at Guest Central for a meeting to be held soon. See Pastor Rick for more information.

Next, if you are interested in getting involved at Fountain Hill Elementary School, with opportunities as classroom volunteering, mentoring, etc., see Pastor Rick for more information on how to get involved!
