Do Not Despise the Day of Small Things

By Pastor Brian

“Small things add up.”

“He who is faithful in a little is faithful in much.”

“The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step.”

This September, Epic Church is going to begin a small thing that will have a major impact on our lives. Together as a church we’re going to participate in the E100 Challenge.  The E100 Challenge is a guided tour through 50 Old Testament readings and 50 New Testament readings that will:

  • Give you an overview of the whole Bible;
  • Help you identify major characters in the Bible;
  • Discover how all of Scripture points to Jesus;
  • Give you a foundation for understanding what we believe and why.

e100_logoEach day’s readings will be less than 10 minutes.  For reference, there are 63 minutes worth of commercials in a football game (http://bit.ly/2b3tafZ), more than 15 minutes of commercials in an hour of TV (http://bit.ly/2bDnGqo), and the average Facebook user spends 50 minutes per day on Facebook (ttp://nyti.ms/1VMxPDr).  I’m pretty sure that each of us can find 7-10 minutes per day to embark on this adventure.  To make it even more achievable, you can even listen to the passages using the Epic Church App.

Not only will we be reading through the Bible as individuals, but we’ll be incorporating the E100 into our devotionals, social media, and community groups.  That way, when someone has a question about something they read, we can answer that question as a community, whether online or in person.

I can’t wait to get started on this with you!
